About this farm

Beech Meadow Farm currently offers exclusively 100% grass fed beef raised year-round in rotationally grazed pastures. Our beef is from our herd of purebred American Lowline Angus. These cattle are the definition of a heritage breed as they are from a herd whose traits have not been altered by selective breeding since the 1940s. Cattle prior to the 1940s were well adapted to marbling when raised in pastures or on range without the use of grain. Thus our genetic line provides great tasting, tender well-marbled beef that alters many of our customer's perceptions of what grass fed beef can be. They are also smaller, more docile and easygoing than many of today's breeds and hybrids, which makes them ideal for working with closely on a daily basis. It also leads to a smaller split-quarter than with hybrids which can reduce the total cost to purchase from us Our goal is to continue to improve the quality of the ecosystem with which we work. It is intuitive that humane treatment of our animals produces the best quality product for our tables and so we treat ours with respect. We believe that good food provides for good health and that sustainable, grass-based farming offers the most effective way to provide it.
