About this farm

Dragonfly Farms is a small diversified family farm in Beaverdam, Virginia owned by Bruce and Katherine Johnson. We raise natural, grass finished Belted Galloway and Angus beef. Our cows are raised on quality pastures from birth to slaughter without the use of hormones or antibiotics. Every consideration is given to keeping these cows healthy and in a low stress environment. Our pastures are naturally managed by rotational grazing, mowing and fertilizing with manures and compost. Bruce’s background in horticulture aids in maintaining quality pasture and diversified plants for grazing and Katherine’s career as a large animal veterinarian gives her the knowledge to make decisions regarding the care of our cows. Our beef is available by the quarter steer as well as family packs which include 25lbs of mixed cuts. We also sell individual steaks, roasts, ground beef as well as sausages, hot dogs and beef sticks. In addition, we keep pastured hens for egg production, produce our own naturally grown hay and sell vegetables at local farmer’s markets. We also offer board for lay-up and retired horses. We welcome visitors to enjoy our beautiful farm. Our products are available at the farm as well as local farmer’s markets.
