About this farm
Green Hills Harvest produces organic milk from Jersey-cross cows. Owners Kerry and Barb Buchmayer say that a few customers have wondered if their skim and 2% milk is mislabeled because it tastes so creamy. The Buchmayers feed their cows a limited amount of organic grain to supplement the fresh pasture. (The cows get about 1/3 to 1/2 as much grain as is typically fed in a standard dairy.) The milk is hormone and pesticide free. Green Hills Harvest milk products will soon be available in select stores in the Kansas City area.
