About this farm

Parting Ridge Farm is a small, family-owned farm located on both sides of the WV/VA border, a little over two hours from WDC. Our farm has been in the family for over 100 years. We provide whole grassfed lamb and grassfed Angus beef by the quarters and halves, as well as both by the cut or box. We have raised quality, healthy beef for a tri-state area for over 28 years. Large quantities such as halves and quarters or whole lambs may be picked up at our Harrisonburg, VA (near I-81) processor. Smaller quantities may be picked up on the farm. Because we are so far out in the country, we also offer monthly delivery points in larger towns within a two and a half hour radius, as long as there is an acceptable amount of monthly purchases. We have just begun this practice and are currently serving Sterling, VA, outside WDC. Contact us to organize a delivery point in your area to have quality grassfed beef and lamb delivered monthly to your office complex or neighborhood. As seasoned grassfed farmers, we believe in sustainable agriculture, low-impact farming, streamside fencing and rotational grazing. Kent has been keen on every aspect of grassfed farming since its inception. Our pastures are not certified organic, but looking at the requirements, we feel they would qualify. We supplement our livestock with organic kelp. We use no growth hormones and no antibiotics. Our beeves are raised in lush meadows and extremely remote mountaintops in peaceful, chemical-free conditions. Our lambs are raised on a separate local farm with the same practices. Our animals are treated gently at all times and learn to trust our care. They move gently and peacefully. We are not looking to be a large company. Our mission is to steadily provide an ongoing quality grassfed beef product throughout the coming years to people like ourselves who believe in a healthy way to live and eat.
