About this farm

Thistle Creek Farms is a 5th generation family farm located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. We raise contented beef cattle and sheep (lamb) roaming outdoors all their lives. Our cattle are moved to a new smorgasbord of grasses and clovers every day. Our beef is raised on high quality grasses sourced from the Czech Republic, Denmark, Ireland and New Zealand, and Romania. We decided to go sustainable 30 years ago, well before it became popular. Even then we were concerned about soil and water health. We have always been concerned about the health and comfort of our cattle. We now have healthy productive soils and grasses. Our soils are alive with earthworm and microbial activity. We do not grow any kind of GMO crops or grasses on our farm. We do not use hormones or antibiotics. We haven't used insecticides on our fields or pastures in over 30 years. Most of our beef goes to 5-star restaurants. But, we still offer grass-fed beef by the eighth, quarter, or half. We also offer hamburger in any amount. Our beef is dry-aged for 21 days for a gourmet eating experience. We offer lamb by the half or whole. Farmers Markets: Our meat goes to numerous farmers markets through other buyers. Grocery Stores: Wegman's of State College. Restaurants: JJJefferies, Lancaster, PA; Colonie, Brooklyn, NY; and Brick Farm Market, Hopewell, NJ. Buying Clubs: Our Harvest, Brooklyn, NY.
