About this farm

Absolute Pastured Poultry (since 2002) raises pastured poultry style chickens on green pasture in the scenic Sugarloaf Valley near the Sugarloaf Mountain located close to Interstates I-80 and I-81. Our farm is miles away from any industry in the heart of prime agricultural land with excellent deep well water and pastures of only naturally occurring grass with no farm-related chemicals or fertilizers for over 40 years. We initially began raising chickens for our own family members, but found that others were also interested in healthier, highest quality, naturally-raised chicken never fed drugs, heavy metals, antibiotics, hormones or other animal by-products. Our flocks are given supplemental certified organic feed from a local mill to produce excellent gourmet-quality, hearty-tasting chicken weighing between 4–7 pounds each. We practice sustainable agriculture and are members of the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture and the American Pastured Poultry Producers Association. Currently, we begin in the Spring and offer multiple groups of chickens throughout the summer months and into fall. Ordering is by pre-arrangement before and during this time period.
