About this farm

Hough Family Farm is a small diversified family farm located in Southampton, NJ. Our farm specializes in natural pasture raised quality meats. We offer pastured pork, lamb, duck, chicken and both duck and chicken eggs. Our meat chickens, laying chickens, and ducks are raised on pasture in Joe Salatin style chicken tractors that are moved to fresh pasture daily. The animals that we raise DO NOT receive any hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. Hough Family Farm proudly raises heritage Berkshire Pork that is certified 100% Pure Berkshire Pork by the American Berkshire Association. This is the same heritage breed as the famed Kurobuta Pork of Japan. Pure bred Berkshire pigs are known as the "Kobe Beef of Pork." It is known for its tenderness, juiciness, and far superior flavor. Our lambs do not receive any grain. They eat alfalfa when in the barn and pasture when outside. All of our animals are sold "on the hoof" or live. We will transport the lamb and pig to Bringhurst Meats, a family-owned Animal Welfare Approved butcher, in Berlin NJ. You will decide exactly how your whole or half animal is processed. The customer is responsible for the butchering costs. Hough Family farm is pleased to offer dressing of chickens and ducks at our on-farm facility. Here at Hough Family Farm we are dedicated to sustainability. While not certified Organic we DO NOT use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Our animals provide natural organic fertilizer for our pastures. We are also in the process of training our rescued Belgian Draft Horse, Sugar, to provide the "horse power" that the farm needs.
