Running River Ranch raises Scottish Highland Cattle, South African Boer Goats, and Horned Dorset Sheep. We offer live steers for sale, as well as quarters, halves, and whole beef, cut to your specifications. Highland beef is extremely lean and flavorful. Healthy and delicious lamb and goat is also available, as well as raw goat's milk for pet food (not legal for human consumption). At Running River Ranch, we are dedicated to raising healthy livestock, naturally. Our concern about additives—such as antibiotics, hormones, steroids, preservatives, etc.—in our food supply, and the rise in food-related allergies among friends, family, and the U.S. population in general, forms the basis for our "natural" philosophy. We have selected hardy breeds of livestock and employ sound management practices, such as overseeding pastures with legumes and seasonal forages, pasture rotation to control parasites, and balanced nutrition, to keep our animals healthy. Our livestock are fed a grass and legume-based diet and we do not add hormones, growth enhancers or antibiotics to their feed. We sell vacuum-packed, USDA inspected beef, goat and lamb. We also take custom orders prepared in accordance with your specifications. Shipping options include pickup at butcher shop or UPS dry ice pack to your door.
